Hot & Cold

Fresh out of the kiln: Two sets with the same design, but with opposing “temperatures”.

This is a design that I really love, combining Double Helix silver colors with silvered ivory shards. Double Helix is an American glass manufacturer, specialised on silver glass. It’s actually right around the corner, in Shelton, WA, on the Olympic Peninsula. They manufacturer by hand the most amazing silver glass colors that develop a lovely color range and gorgeous shimmer in the flame.

I decorate the silver glass with very thin glass shards made of silvered ivory, and encase heavily in crystal clear before shaping into chunky bicones. I love this shape: it looks sleek, modern, yet offers so many design possibilities from earrings to bracelets and necklaces. Ideal shape and size for everything!

So here’s the “hot” set, called “Tropical Nights” with a base of Clio silver glass. Great hot pink & silver blue effects!

And this is the matching “cold” bead set, aptly called “Arctic Nightswith a base of Triton silver glass. Just check out the gorgeous mother of pearl shimmer!

Both bead sets are listed in my Etsy shop. Check them out!

And just to see this bead style in a finished design, this is a pic of my “Beach Girl” bracelet. I made it in 2010 and it was shown in an exhibition in Seattle. Here I combined the beads with sterling silver beads, Sterling chains and Swarovski crystals.

  1. What beautiful work…I wish I was rich so that I could fill my jewelry box with your georgous pieces !

    • Awww, thanks so much Lenory!
Just imagine how large of a jewelry box we all would have, if we could spend as much as we want on beads & baubles 🙂
I guess I would need a walk in wardrobe just for my jewelry LOL
